[Deeds were always either "acknowledged in open court" or "proved by 
oath of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, 
these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved 
by...."]

Ordered that the following overseers with their hands work on Rockfish 
Bridge on the road leading to McPhaulls / to wit / Peter Smith Abraham 
Brown John Buie Archd McFater & John McKay and that the said 
overseers leave the bridge in good repair as soon as possible and then 
the said overseers to work their hands as usual

Bill of sale from Ducan McFarland to Archd Buie proved by John Buie

Guardian Shepard Hammon a boy of colour bound apprentice to John 
Hammon untill he arrive to the age of twenty one years now being eight 
where John Hammon entered into bond with Horatia Hammon his 
security as the law in such case requires

Ordered that there be a road from Simon Coxes to the bear spring on 
Jacobs swamp and that the sheriff summon the following gentlemen to 
lay of the same / to wit / James Barnes Benjamin Lee Willis Low Wiley 
Barnes Jesse Pitman William Atkinson Curtis Suggs Henry Purvis 
Lewis Cox Simon Cox Senr Josiah Barnes Meedy Lamb & Newit 
Pitman

Whereas it has been made appear to the satisfaction of this court that 
Mary McInnis on the 11th day of August 1791 entered fifty acres of 
land on the entry takers book of Robeson county and also it having 
been made appear the purchase money for the same has been paid 
but by some means or other the warrent for survey has either not been 
issued or lost.  Ordered that the clerk so make out a duplicate warrent 
for the survey of the said fifty acres of land

Administration on the estate of Danl Campbell decd is granted to 
Nancy Campbell who entered into bond in the sum of four hundred 
pounds with Duncan [Cam]pbell her security and at same time 
[returned] an inventory of the deceaseds estate.

The admr of the estate of Colin Campbell returned the amount of the 
sales of the deceaseds estate which was ordered to be filed

John Flowers Esquire returned an execution at the suit of William 
Ashley against Sion Bullard for three pounds one shilling & six pence 
and costs levied by Theophilus Griffin constable on one hundred acres 
of land in Cowards Swamp joining James Hinsons line ordered that the 
sheriff sell the same

Court adjourned untill tomorrow ten oclock

Wednesday October the 6th 1802

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful Thomas Sewell Noah Pitman & William 
Norment Esquires

Ordered that James Campbell be appointed guardian to minors of the 
late John McKay deceased for the special purpose of guarding the 
interest of said minors at the laying off the widows dower
