Thomas Barnes Sheriff presented a list of insolvents for the year 1802 
which was allowed

Ordered that John McNeill be overseer of the streets in Lumberton

William Norment Esquire came into court and made oath that he was 
in fear of Death or some bodily hurt to be done or to be procured to be 
done to him by Melican & Luke and that he did not require surety of the 
peace against them out of malice or for mear vexation but for the 
causes aforesaid and the said Melican & & Luke Carter failing to give 
sureties therefore it is ordered that they be comitted to jail and there to 
remain untill they give security of one thousand pounds each

Court adjourned untill court in course

At a county court of pleas and Quarter [sessions] begun and held for 
the County of Robeson on Monday the third day of October and twenty 
eighth year of American Independence AD 1803

Present the worshipful Joseph Wood Elias Barnes Sampson Bridgers 
& Archibald Buie Esquires

The sheriff returned the Venire Facias from which the court selected 
the following gentlemen to attend as grand juros during this term / to 
wit / Albritain Drake Foreman Charles Bullock Joseph Kitchen Henry 
Thompson John McColl John Watson Dugald Grayham James Biggs 
John Campbell Duncan McMillan Archd Murphy Duncan Brown & 
William Traywick and John Rea constable sworn to attend them

Ordered that Samuel Britt be overseer of the road in room of Jacob 
Barnes

Ordered that Jesse Philips be overseer of the road in room of John 
West

Ordered that Michael Herring be overseer of the creek in room of 
Britain Barnes

Ordered that the sheriff summon the following gentlemen to attend as 
jurors at the next Superior Court to be held for the district of 
Fayetteville / to wit /Thomas Sewell Alexr Rowland Benjamin Lewis?
