oath of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, 
these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved 
by...."]

Ordered that a Negro fellow named Bob the property of Henry Pope 
have liberty to cary a gun & be out on his master's land provided the 
said Pope give bond and security as the law in such case require

In the case George Moore vs Stephen Beck Jacob Rhodes being 
summond as guarnishee maketh oath that Stephen Beck lodged a 
note in his hands given by William Norment to Stephen Beck for fifty 
thousand feet of lumber as a security for said Moore should he suffer 
that there was one half of said sum already paid said beck ordered that 
said note of fifty thousand feet of lumber be deposited in the clerks 
office

Ordered that the county tax for the year 1803 be 1/6 on each poll and 
6d on every hundred acres of land and 1/6 on every hundred pounds 
town property and for the jail tax 6d on each poll & 2nd.. on every 
hundred acres of land & 6d? on every hundred pounds town property

Ordered that Thomas Barnes sheriff be allowed fifty pounds for his 
extra services for the year 1803 and Josiah Barnes clerk allowed 
twenty pounds for his extra services the same year

Ordered that Elias Paul pay to Sally Walker the sum of seven pounds 
for the support of a bastard child whereon he stands the reputed father

Ordered that Zabon Davis be overseer of the road in room of James 
Lilly
