Ordered that John McNeill be overseer of the road in room of 
Alexander Grimes

The last will and testament of James Stephens proved byJohn Molloy 
and admited to record when Mary Stephen qualified as Executrix & 
Archd Darlrymple qualified as Exr to said will

Administration on the estate of Archd Buie deceased was granted to 
Duncan Buie & Danl Matthews who qualified as such and entered into 
bond in the sum of one thousand pounds with John McColl their 
securities

James McNeill David Torry Robert McLachlan Hector McNeill & 
Malcom McNeill who was appointed a committee to divide the estate of 
Danl McPherson deceased made a report of their proceedings which 
was ordered to be filed

Court adjourned untill tomorrow ten oclock

Tuesday April the third 1804

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful Thomas Sewell Nicholas Powell & Joseph 
Regan Esquires

Duncan Campbell exempt from paying a double tax in Captain Danl 
Buies District for the year 1803 and also Sanders Carlisles exempt as 
above

Ordered that the following hands work on the road under Warren 
Alford overseer / viz / Daniel McLain Archibald McLain Angus Munroe 
and Dugald Grayham

Ordered that Alexander McMillan be overseer of the road in room of 
Alexander McKay

John Storm Duncan McNeill Saml Rowland John McLain and Albritain 
Drake who was appointed by a Dediumus Potestatum & commission of 
the peace came into court and took the necessary oaths for their 
qualification as such and took their seats accordingly

Ordered that Duncan Campbell Saml Biggs & John Little Esquires be a 
comittee to settle with the administrators of John McKay and make 
report of thier procedings to next term

Ordered that Robert Haills be overseer of the road in room of Matthew 
Powers

Josiah Barnes resigned his office as clerk of this court when James 
McQueen Esquire was appointed in his stead and took the necessary 
oaths for his qualification as such and entered into the several bonds 
as the law requires with Sion Alford & Zachariah Jordon his securities 
when the following Justices was present / to wit / Joseph Lee Nicholas 
Powell Sion Alford William McNeill Zachariah Jordon Noah Pitman 
Saml Biggs Sampson Bridgers Neill Brown Duncan McNeill John 
McLain Saml Rowland Thomas Sewell John McNeill Duncan Campbell 
Hugh McKay Robert Haills Albritain Drake Stephen Sterling Randol 
Currie David Torry William Ashley Joseph Wood Jospeh Regan John 
Little ? Barnes & John Storm

Ordered that the sheriff summon the following gentlemen to attend as 
jurors at the next Superior Court to be held for the district of 
Fayetteville [to wit?] Hugh McKay John Little Neill Brown ? John Mc? 
and Alfred Rowland ?
