Ordered that Absolam Pitman be appointed constable in Captain 
Sterlings District

Ordered that Stephen Sterling have leave to build a bridge across 
Drowning Creek on his own expense at Ivey's Bluff and that he leave a 
passage for boats under the same

Ordered that the administrator of Hugh Bain's Estate sell the 
perishable property of said estate

Deed from Thomas Barnes to Nathan Pitman acknowledged

Deed from Thomas Barnes to Archibald McNeill acknowledged

Deed from Kedar Hawthorn to James Lamb proved by Jacob Bryant

Bill of sale from Ralph Regan to James Stephens proved by Robert 
McAlpin

An account of sales of the estate of James Stephens Deceased 
returned by the executors of said estate & ordered to be filed

The administrator of the estate of Archd McNeil deceased returned an 
inventory which was ordered to be filed

The admrs of the estate of Hugh Bain returned an inventory which was 
ordered to be filed

The administrators of hte estate of Archibald Buie deceased returned 
an inventory which was ordered to be filed

James Macqueen and John McAlister esquires who were appointed 
arbitrators to settle all matters of controversy depending between Neil 
McKay Guardian of Hector McKay and John and Mary Purcell returned 
their award which was ordered to be filed

Court adjourned untill tomorrow 10 oclock

Tuesday July 3d 1804 Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful Joseph Lee John Storm William Ashley and 
Duncan Campbell Esquires

Thomas Davis esquire attorney for the state came into court and 
resigned his appointment when Edwin Jay Osborn Esquries was 
appointed in his room who took the oaths of qualification agreeable to 
law

William Alexander Littlejohn Esqurie was admitted to practice as an 
attorney in this court and took the necessary otaths

Ordered the following hands work on the road under William Flowers 
viz. Tobias Sealeys William Ashley's Frederick L Kay ? Frederick & 
Redwin Varnum James Terry Henry Flowers Briton Barnes and 
Stephen Wiggins in addition ot the hands already allowed

Ordered that Silas Drake and Evan Ellis be appointed patroles in 
Captain Drakes district

Ordered that Daniel McCallum Alexander McKay Dugald ? and Angus 
McLean be appointed pattroles in Capt Jordans [district]

Ordered that Abram Barfield be appointed overseer of the road in room 
of William Morris

Ordered that Samuel Stone be overseer of the road in the room of 
Ishmael Dilliard

Ordered that Charles McDugald be overseer in room of Lewis Jenkins

Ordered tha tWilliam Paul be exempt from paying a ? in future and 
also from all publick duty

Ordered that Samuel Rowland Esquire receive the list of taxable 
property in Captain Lees District in room of Joseph Lee Esquire 
resigned

On application Archibald Smith's mark is admitted to be two slits in the 
right ear and crop and slit to the left

Ordered that the sheriff sumon the following gentlemen to attend as 
jurors at next term / to wit / Archd McCallum John Thompson Senr 
John Thompson Junr George Thompson Silas Drake John McMillan ? 
McLauchlan Hugh McGugan? Duncan Little?
