James Townsend petitioned the court praying for an order for the 
Secretary of State to correct an error in a patent of three hundred 
acres of land 

Ordered therefore that the clerk certify the same to the Secretary 
accordingly

The Commissioners who were appointed to examine the navigation of 
Drowning Creek from Archibald Sellars's to the mouth of the Buffallow 
reports that the[y] find the same sufficient for the navigation of boats & 
as far up as Angus Gilchrists when properly opened

Ordered that Jesse Pitman be overseer of the road in room of 
Benjamin Lee

Ordered that Newit Pitman be overseer of the road in room of Samuel 
Britt

Ordered that Robert Pitman be overseer of the road in room of David 
Braswell

Ordered that Jesse Phillips be overseer of the road in room of Henry 
Pope

Deed from John Hammons (Senr) to Louis Hammons acknowledged

William McNeill Esquire retrurned an execution at the suit of John 
Sledd agt John Locklear for the sum of five pounds and costs levied by 
Isaac Dyson constable on one hundred acres of land the property of 
John Locklear near William McNeils land on the East side of Drowning 
Creek. Ordered that the sheriff sell the same

William McNeill Esquire returned an execution at the suit of Robert 
Bullard agt John Locklear for the sum of four pounds nine shillings and 
cost levied by Isaac Dyson constable on one hundred acres of land the 
property of John Locklear on the East side of Drowning Creek on the 
Juniper Branch joining William McNeill and Neil McNeils land ordered 
that the sheriff sell the same

William McNeill Esquire returned an execution at the suit of Angus 
Finlayson agt Neil McGill for the sum of thirteen pounds one shilling & 
two pence with cost levied by Isaac Dyson constable on two hundred 
acres of land in Robeson County on the ? near James McNeil & Neil 
McGill Senr land ordered that the sheriff sell the same

William McNeil Esquire returned an execution at the suit of John 
Watson agt John Locklear for the sum of two poiunds eight shillings 
with cost levied by Isaac Dyson constable on one hundred acres of 
land the property of John Locklear on the East side of Drowning Creek 
joining William McNeil and Neill McNeils land. Ordered that the sheriff 
sell the same

Court adjourned untill tomorrow 10 oclock

Wednesday October 3d 1804

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipful Daniel McPhaul Duncan Campbell Albritton 
Drake and William MacNeil Esquires

William Moore David Barnes George Moore and Peter Lamon were 
appointed patroles in Lumberton District

In the suit John Brock assignee of William Burford against John Noyes 
the Bail surrendered the defendant in discharge of themselves when 
he was ordered in custody of Alfred Rowland the present sheriff

Ordered that the road leading from Lumberton to the meeting house be 
discontinued from the road that turns out to go [to] Jacob Rhodes & 
Mills Ordered therefore that the sheriff summon a jury to lay off the 
road crossing at Rhodes Mills to the meeting house

Ordered that James McNeil Patrick McArthur and Alexander Watson 
be patroles in Captain McArthurs District

Ordered that the sheriff summon a new jury to lay of the dower of 
Elizabeth Legget formerly widow of Robert Council now wife of David 
Legget
