County court minutes 1797-1813, North Carolina, Superior Court

[Deeds were always either "acknowledged in open court" or "proved by 
oath of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, 
these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved 
by...."]

Ordered that the sheriff summon a jury of good and lawfull men to view 
the road that leads from Campbells Bridge to Fayetteville particularly 
that part which runs through the Buck Pond near John Wilks's and 
report to the next court whether in their oppinion it be proper and 
necessary for the benefit of the Citzens generally that said road should 
be turned around the pond instead of running through it

Archibald Gilbert an orphan who was formerly bound to John Noyes 
was summoned to the court and rebound to Archibald Rea, who 
entered into bond as the law requires

Maryan Laton was appointed guardian of Olive and Ann Thomas minor 
orphans who entered into bond with Robert Haills and William Moore 
her security

Deed from Richard Powell to William Powell acknowledged

Deed from Richard Powell to Benjamin Moore acknowledged

Deed from Malcom Mac Rae to Normand McLeod proved by James 
Macqueen

Isaac Dyson was appointed constable in Captain McArthurs district 
who entered into bond accordingly

Court adjourned untill to morrow 10 oclock

Thursday October 4th 1804

Present the worshipfull John Storm Robert Haills and John McNeil 
Esquires

Ordered that John Blount constable be allowed thirty two shillings for 
four days attendance this term and John Rea twenty four shillings for 
three days attendance

Ordered that Daniel Powell be overseer of the road in room of Joshua 
Dilliard?
