County court minutes 1797-1813, North Carolina, Superior Court

oath of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, 
these have been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved

Willis Blount was bound apprentice to John Dow untill he arrives to the 
age of twenty one years being now twelve

Court adjourned untill tomorrow 10 oclock

Thursday January the 10th 1805 Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipfull Joseph Wood John Storm John McNeil & Peter 
Lamon Esquires

Ordered that John Blount constable be allowed the sum thirty two 
shillings for his attendance on the court during this term

John Hilborn appointed constable in Captain Regans district who 
entered into bond with Joseph Wood his security

John Peter Martin who was appointed a Justice of the peace came into 
court and took the several oaths necessary for his qualification

Ordered that Zachariah Jordan be overseer of hte road in room and 
district of Murdock McInnis

Ordered that the road crossing the Great Swamp at Kings Island be 
discontinued and that the hands who worked thereon hereafter work 
on the Elizabeth Road under Angus McEachen

Ordered that Jacob Blount Junior be overseer of the road in room of 
Jacob Blount Senior

Ordered the sheriff summon the following gentlemen to attend as 
jurors at the next term / to wit / John Barnes John Biggs Moses 
Grantham Joshua Hawthorn Everit Lee William Brown Peter Smith 
Lumberbridge Malcom McNeill Saddler Angus Black Charles Pate 
William Odum William Townsend Jonathan Wishart Charles Thomson 
William Thomson Road? William Regan Marmaduke Howell James 
Smith Samuel Willis James Lamb Danl Low Jacob Barnes John Pope 
William Sterling Thomas Townsend John Thomson Thomson Powell 
Willis Lowe Henry Bird and Henry Bullock

Ordered that John Rea constable be allowed the sum fifty four shillings 
for his attendance this term
