Deed from Curtis Sugg to James Taylor proved by William Atkison

The petition of Isabella Curry formerly widow of Daniel Johnson deceased 
praying that a Committee be appointed to lay off her dower out of her former 
husbands estate was reviewed & granted

Ordered that the sheriff summon the following gentlemen to lay off said dower 
accordingly to wit – Archibald Gilchrist John McPhaul David Torry Angus Curry 
Daniel Johnson Malcom Gilchrist Hector McLean Daniel McPhaul John Purcell John 
McEachen Peter McEachen & William Gilchrist

Court adjourned untill tomorrow 9 oclock

Wednesday January the 7th 1807

Court met according to adjournment 

Present the worshipful Joseph Regan Daniel McPhaul & David Torry Esquires

Ordered that the county tax for the year 1806 be two shillings on the poll & 
the jail tax one shilling and six pence on the poll

Ordered that Isaac Lee be overseer of the road in room of Abraham Lawson

Ordered that Dawson Waters be overseer of the road? in Everet Lees district and 
that James Waters and William Lawson be added to the said district

Ordered that Jesse Lee John McNeil & Zephaniah Leonard assess the town property 
for the year 1806?

Robert Haills Esquire who was appointed Deputy Clerk of this court was duly 
qualified as such

Deed from John Hawthorn to Charles McKinnon proved by James McQueen

Deed of gift from Peter McArthur to Abram and Margaret Henderson proved by 
James McQueen

Last will and testament of Duncan Wilkison decd proved by David Torry & Angus 
Gilchrist when John Wilkison qualified as Executor and Christian Wilkison as 
Executrix to the same
