County court minutes 1797-1813, North Carolina, Superior Court (Robeson

At a Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions begun and held at the Town of 
Lumberton on Monday the 4th day of January Anno Domini 1808 and thirty second 
year of our Independence

Present the worshipful Joseph Wood Malcom Nicolson & Duncan Campbell Esquires

The Sheriff returned the Venire Facias when the following gentlemen were 
selected to serve as Grand Jurors during this Term  To Wit James Smith Daniel 
Lowe Benjamin Lewis Samuel Storm Neill McQuilkin Willis Lowe Ichabud Davis 
Charles Pate Daniel Campbell William Townsand Dougald Powell Hardy Pope Jacob 
Blount

Alexander Rowland Charles Moore William Sterling and Malcom McNeill where were 
appointed Justices of the peace by the last General Assembly came into Court 
and took the necessary oaths for their quallification as such

Ordered that Peter McGeachy be overseer of the road in room of John McCrainey
