County court minutes 1797-1813, North Carolina, Superior Court

Ordered that Bengeman Lewis be appointed overseer of the road in 
the room of William Moore and that the hands work under him

Ordered that William Thompson (road) be and is hereby apointed 
overseer of the road from his own house to Lumberton and that he 
work his own hands James Hamons Hezekiah Thompson & William 
Spikes

Duncan McNull vs Angus Buchan & Peeter Brown  Archd Craford 
being sumoned garnishee appeared in Court and says that he is 
indebted to Angus Buchan the sum of £5..1 the above sum is 
condemend in his hands for the benefit of the Plaintiff's judgement 
when recovered

Ordered that Josiah Inman be overseer of the road in the room of 
James Lee

Ordered that Malcom McNull be allowed the sum of twenty pounds in 
full for his own and Hector M'Neills charges for building the bridge 
across Bigg Rockfish

Ordered that Joseph Wood and Thomas Sewell Esqrs be a Committee 
to act in conjunction with the Tresure of Public Buildings to examine 
the new jail lately built and report to the next term

Ordered that the County Tax for the year 1807 be two shillings and six 
pence and Jail Tax six pence and sixpence for the Old Jail amounting 
in the whole three shillings and sixpence

Ordered that the sheriff be allowed the sum of twenty pounds for his 
extra service in the year 1807

Ordered the Clark of this Court be allowed the sum of twenty pounds 
for his extra service and the sum of three pounds for stationary for the 
year 1807

Ordered that Bengeman Lee and Robert Haills and William Ashley be 
a Committee to divide the property of Meedy Lamb decd among his 
heirs and report to next term

Ordered that James Stewart be fined the sum of forty shillings for 
intoxication when on the Grand Jury

Amount of Sales of the Estate of Meedy Lamb was returned by the 
executor of his estate, ordered to be filed

Joel Bolton a minor orphan of the age of seven years and ten months 
was bound to Daniel Patterson untill he arrives at the age of twenty one

The Administrators of the Estate of Needham Rowland deceased 
returned an inventory of his estate, ordered to be filed

Ordered that John Regan Esquire be allowed to turn the road leading 
from Elizabeth to Lumberton round part of his plantation agreeable to 
his petition

The Executor of the last will and testament of William Regan deceased 
returned the account of sales of his estate, ordered to be registered

Ordered that Bengeman Lee William Ashley and Robert Haills the 
Committee appointed to divide the estate of Meedy Lamb Decd among 
the heirs of said decd be a Committee to settle with the Admr and 
report to next term
