Ordered that a Public Road be laid off from the Town of Lumberton to 
the middle of the Big Swamp near Dennis Lennons so as to meet the 
road now oppened from Columbus Court house to that place and that 
the sheriff summon the following gentlemen to lay off the same and 
report to next term to Wit John Storm Samuel Storm Jonathan Wishart 
Jacob Mercer Noah Mercer John Hawthorn Joseph Newberry Richard 
Lamb Jordan Phillips Sion Pitman Nathaniel Hawthorn Joshua Mercer 
Israel Campbell William Hesters Gabriel Carter Henry Taylor

Ordered that the following hands work under Andrew Fulmore overseer 
of the stage road to Wit Furney Barfield James Barnes William 
Wheeler James Barfield Major Russell and Sion Best

Ordered that Malcom Mathews be overseer of the road in room of 
Hugh Mathews and work the former hands

Ordered that James Lowrey the father of a reputed bastard child of a 
certain freewoman named Sarah Hammons for the support of said 
child the sum of six pounds and the sum of four pounds annually 
thereafter during the term of six years

Ordered that John Flowers and William Sterling esquires be a 
committee to examine the accounts and to settle with the administratrix 
of Isham Sealy deceased and report to next term – and that the 
administratrix be allowed the sum of ten dollars for his (sic) services as 
such

John Percell Archd Gilchrist Patrick Smith Isaac Smith and Absolom 
Davis be find agreeable to law for thier nonattendance as Jurours

The last will and testament of Angus mcLean deceased proved by 
John McCallum and Archd McLean and admited to record at the same 
time John McLean and Mary McLean quallified as administrator and 
administratrix on the estate
