Wednesday April 5th 1809

Court met according to adjournment

Present the worshipfull Joseph Wood Joseph Regan & John Hesters Esquires

Ordered that William McNull Constable be allowed the sum of twenty four 
shillings for his attendance on the Jury at Jany Term 1809

Bill of sale from Isaac Dyson to Robert Campbell and Daniel Campbell 
acknowledged [in margin:] Delivered? to Jonathan Wishart

Ordered that the administrators of the estate of Needham Rowland deceased sell 
800 acres of land belonging to the said estate for the purpose of paying the 
debts due by the estate

Ordered that the clerk shall charge one shilling for issuing the certificates of 
the jurors and that the same be taxed in the certificate
Ordered that Jacob Mercer be overseer of the Creek from Bakers landing to 
Mathew's Bluff and that the former hands work under him

Benjamin Blount was appointed Constable in Captain Biggs District who entered 
into bond with Allen McLachlin his security

Ordered that John Gowing Junior be overseer of the road in room & district of 
Alexander Rowland

Ordered that some lawfull officer be commanded to bring before the Justices of 
this Court at next July Term four bastard children of Elizabeth Green to be then 
and there dealt with as the Court may direct

Ordered that Daniel Campbell be overseer of the road leading from Lumberton to 
Carthage and that the former hands who worked thereon do work thereon under the 
above mentioned overseer

State vs Nathan Powell } Nuisance

A True Bill. Charged & pleads not guilty.  Jury charged and find the defendant 
not guilty Motion made to tax the prosecutor with cost was overuled.  Appeal 
prayed for & granted.

Court adjourned untill tomorrow 9 oclock
