County court minutes 1797-1813, North Carolina, Superior Court (Robeson 
County) – 1806-1813

[Deeds were always either "acknowledged in open court" or "proved by oath 
of...." and then ordered to be registered; to eliminate redundancy, these have 
been abstracted simply as "acknowledged" or "proved by...."]

Ordered that James Alford Sion Alford & James McQueen be appointed as a 
committee to lay off and apportion to Arthur Pitman's assignee his wife her 
part of the lands left her by her father Othniel Traweek & agreeably to the 
prayer of P Pitmans petition

Ordered that John Blount Constable be allowed the sum of twenty four shillings 
for his attendance this term

Ordered that John Blount be allowed the sum of Eaight shilling for his 
attendence one day at March term 1811

Allso the sum of twenty four shillings for his attendence three days at August 
Court

Court adjourned untill Court in Course

Ordered that Jacob Merser be allowed the sum of twenty four shillings for his 
attendence at August term all so the sum of twenty four shilling at Sept 
Superior Cour[t] and the sum of twenty four shillings at this term

At a Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions begun and held for the County of 
Robeson at the Town of Lumberton on Monday the 24th day of February AD 1812

Present the worshipful Joseph Wood Malcom McNeill William Thompson Esquires

The sheriff returned the Venire Facias and the Court selected the following 
gentlemen to serve as Grand Jurors during this term To Wit
