At a Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions begun and held for the County of 
Robeson at the Court House in Lumberton on Monday the 24th day of August and in 
the year of our Lord 1812

Present the worshipful Joseph Wood John Regan John McLean Randal Curry & 
Williaim Sterling Esquires

The sheriff returned the Venire Facias ? Court selected the following gentlemen 
to serve as Grand Jurors during this term To Wit

Ordered that John McMillen be overseer of the road in room and district of John 
McEachern

Ordered that Alexander Rowland sheriff be allowed the sum of five dollars being 
the amount paid by him to a guard of 4 men for 5 nights who guarded two 
prisoners ? Wagers and Rodgers

Ordered that Henry Purvis be exempt from the payment of a poll tax for the year 
1811 charged to him by mistake

Ordered that Peter Johnson work on the lower road on which he formerly worked 
under Robert Ferguson overseer

Ordered that Archibald McEachern be overseer of the road from the fork at Archd 
Wilkisons to the fork at Mr. Lindsay's

Ordered that Duncan McNeill be overseer of the road in room of Daniel McIntagart

Ordered that two negro men the property of Colonel Regan to Wit Jack & George be 
permited to carry guns on their said master's lands the said Colonel Regan 
having first entered into bond as the law requires
