Rachel Poole Steadman at St. Paul, NC
 
This photo taken at St.Paul, NC ca. 1930 --  Rachel Poole Steadman (9/20/1907 -
1/29/1991) was the daughter of John H. Poole (1/1/1879-7/1/1962) and Amanda 
Wilkerson (6/17/1885-7/18/1953).  She was born in Gibson, North Carolina.  She 
was the wife of Luther D. Steadman (12/30/1902-7/29/1971) of Cumberland 
County, NC.  She and her husband worked many years in different cotton mills 
in the area and as you can see in the photo, they grew food in the garden and 
kept a few chickens around.  Her mother, Amanda Wilkerson, was a daughter of 
Malcom (10/10/1839-11/02/1902) and Martha Turner 5/26/1845-8/6/1935)Wilkerson 
of Lumberton, NC.
