Wilkerson and his family are featured with his Father-In-Law, Mr. Isham Lamb and his wife Katherine Fields. It is not exactly clear as to which house they are at, but I believe it to be the house of Mr. and Mrs. Isham Lamb. I have another photograph of the same group of people wearing the exact same clothes in front of a larger house. I believe that house is owned by William J. Wilkerson as he has a large family. That house was located about 1/4 of the way from Lumberton toward Fairmont on HWY 41. I would assume the Lambs may have lived very close, if not on the same property. William J. Wilkerson (Mr. Bill) was the son of Malcom and (first wife) Crissie J. Prevatte Wilkerson of Lumberton, NC. He and his family, from what I have learned, farmed a large track of land in the area. The Lambs are buried in the Prevatte Cemetery and the majority of the Wilkersons are buried in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Judging by the elaborate grave makers, Mr. Wilkerson and his family must have been finacially secure. Their obituaries are posted elsewhere on this website.
