Written: May 17, 1801

In the name of God Amen I Philip Blount
of the County of Robeson & State of North Carolina
being sick & week of body but of perfect mind &
memory thanks be given unto god Calling in to mind
the mortality of my body & knowing that it is
appointed for all men once to die do make & or
dain This one last will & Testament that is to
principally & first of all I give & Recommend
my soul into the hands of almighty god that
gaveit & my Body I Recommend to the Earth
to be buried in decent Christian buriel at the
Desiretion of my Executors nothing but at the
General Resurection I Shall Receive the same
again by the mighty power of god & as touching
such worldly Estate as it hath been please god
to bleSs me with in this life.  I give devise &
dispose of the same in the following manner &
form, first I give to my beloved children John
Blount  Ann Humphrey  Jacob Blount  Elisabeth
Shanks & Sealy Willis one dollar to each of
them as their full share of my Estate
Item I give to my beloved son Philip blount
two hundred & fifty acres of land lying on the
Side of Nance’s bay between Saddletree & ten mile
Swamp being in two Tracts also I give my son
Philip one bed & furniture ~
Item I give to my beloved sons Readen &
Cornelius Blount the plantation whereon I
now live together with the Remainder of all my
lands also I give to Each of my sons Readen &
Cornelius one bed & furniture ~ gone over

Item I give to my beloved Daughters Rachel
& Margaret Blount Each of them one bed & fur
niture also I give each of them one Cow & calf
Item I give to my beloved wife Margaret Blount
the use of the plantation whereon I now live
during her natural life or widowhood ~
I also give to my beloved wife the Remainder
of my property of Every Description during
her life time & at her death she at liberty
to Dispose it as she please ~
& I do nominate & appoint my freinds
William Humphrey & John Blount
Executers & my beloved wife Executrix to this
my last will & testamint & I do hereby utter
ly disallow Revoke & disanull all & every other
former Testaments wills legacies Bequests & exe-
cuters by me in any ways before named willed &
bequeathed Ratifying & Confirming this & no other
to be my last will & Testament in witneSs where
of I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 17th
day of May 1801 ~
