This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Barbara Hootman ==================================================================== LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ANN ELIZA BROWN Written 1893 -- Probated (CA) 1901 In the name of God, Amen I Ann Eliza Brown, of Red Springs Township County of Robeson and State of North Carolina, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of life, do on this the 6th day of February year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Ninety three (1893) make, publish and declare, this to be and contain my last will and Testament, as follows: that is to say- First - That my executors, hereafter named, shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts. howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the moneys that may first come into their hands as a part or parcel of my estate. Item I give and devise to my three nephews: John M Brown Isaac Thomas Brown and A. Currie Brown, all my lands including the premises on which I now live bounded as follows: Viz - On the north by the lands of John A. Brown East. by the lands of Wm S. McMillan, South - by the lands of my Sister Lovdy Brown, and west- by the lands of my brother A.D.Brown and estate of the late Wm J Brown dec’d containing Sixty One Acres more of less to be theirs and their lawful heirs in fee simple forever. Item - I give and devise to my nephew Robert (J?) Brown, One bed and the furniture to be his and his lawful heirs forever Item - I give and divise to my neice Lizzie Maud Brown, One bed and its furniture to be hers and her lawful heirs forever. Item - I give and devise to my nephew Dr John (?) Brown One grey horse, now upon my premises, the same once owned by my brother Dr John B. Brown of Leesville N.C. Item - I give and devise to my nephew Brown Thompson son of ??? Thompson One sow and pigs to be his, and his lawful heirs forever. Item - I give and devise to my Said three Nephews viz John M Brown Isaac (?) Brown and A. Currie Brown the crop of every Kind that may be on hand at the time of my death, whether gathered on ??? a growing state, together with all farming tools including, carts waggons buggies etc. Also, all household and kitchen furniture. Also all stock of every Kind, not theretofore disposed of in this my will. Item - It is my will and desire, that my three nephews viz: John M. Brown Isaac (?) Brown and A. Currie Brown be my agents or representatives from the date of this will until my death, in the management and Control of all my business of every Kind - that they shall bear equal shares of all expenses that may arise in the making I gathering of a crop from time to time. to properly care for me, in every necessary way, in sickness and in Health. To procure for me, from Time to Time Such clothing and table comforts as may be necessary as a reasonable support - and should either one of my said nephews named as my agents or representatives, neglect to bear equal share with the others in all my necessary expenses already mentioned during my natural life, Or should either of them die during my natural life, then his interest in this my last will and testament is hereby given and devised to the other two who may be living and comply with this bequest. And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint John M. Brown Isaac (?) Brown and A. Currie Brown, my lawful executors to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning the same. In Witness whereof, I the said Ann Eliza Brown do hereunto set my hand and seal this 7th day of February AD 1893 Ann E Brown (her mark and seal) Signed, Sealed, published and declared by the said Ann E.
