Robeson County, NC - Will of H.P. Lovett, 1916 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 529 North Carolina, Robeson County Know all men by these presents, that I, H.P. Lovett, of the above named County and State being of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of life, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form as is hereinafter mentioned, to wit: First. It is my will and desire that my wife, Ollie Lovett shall be cared for by my Executor hereinafter named for and during her natural life time and that she shall have control of my home during her life time and it is also my will and desire that each of my single daughters shall have a home on my place so long as they stay single, to wit: Bodie Lovett, Bessie Lovett and my Grand daughter, Nina Wilcox. Second. I give and bequeath to my Son, Weldon Lovett thirty Acres of land where I now live and the same that was set apart to me in the devision of my Father’s Estate, Wm. Lovett, deed. And also about Five Acres of land of a tract of Ten Acres purchased by me from Arren Wilcox, Five acres having been previously sold of by me, provided he takes care of me and his mother for and during our natural live time and provides the necessaries of life for our comfort. The Said Weldon Lovett is also to pay to my Son Wm. Hessie Lovett at the death of myself and wife, or before if he wishes the sum of one Hundred and Fifty dollars in Cash money and also he must pay to each of my daughters the Sum of Ten dollars each to wit: Willow Britt, Ten dollars, Aby Anderson, Ten dollars, Dovie Carter, Ten dollars, Odor Cox, Ten dollars, Ida Lamb, Ten dollars, Bodie Lovett, Ten dollars, Bessie Lovett, Ten dollars and Nina Wilcox Ten dollars. It is further my will and desire in my son Weldon Lovett complied with all the above requests made by me that the above described land shall be his in fee simple forever. I also give to my son Weldon Lovett all my personal property, that I may have at the time of my death, provided he pays all my just debts. I nominate and appoint my Son Weldon Lovett Executor to this my last Will and Testament. It Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 18th day of January, 1916. H.P.
