All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sam West sam.west.1@gmail.com March 8, 2013, 8:18 am Source: N C Archives Written: June 27, 1819 LAST WILL & TESTAMENT OF SION PITMAN In the Name of God Amen I Sion Pitman of the state NoCarolina County of Robeson Being in perfect mind and memory thanks be given to almight God for the same calling to mind the mortality of my Body knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and Ordain this my last Will + Testament in following manner + form viz first I give and Bequeath to my Dearly beloved wife Elizabeth 130 acres of land whereon I now live including the plantation whereon I now live except a part of cleared land on the west side of the plantation where Mills Tylor former lived Together with all my stock of every description house hold furniture and farming utensils freely by her to be poSsessed + enjoyed during her natual live or widowhool and afterwards the 130 acres of land to be Equally divided among three Children Namely Sion Sampson + Zelica and the stock and furniture + Tools to be Equally divided among all my Children viz Item I give to my son Stephen two dollards in money to be paid By my Executors Item I give + Bequeath to my daughter Charity Webb 40 acres of land to be taken where Mills Taylor formerly lived freely by her to be poSsessed and Enjoyd ~ Item I give and Bequeath to my son Henry 40 acres of land lying between Jno. Webbs land and the Creek near Glares landing freely by him to be poSseSsed and enjoyed ~ Item I give and bequeath to my son Rhodes 100 acres of land in two surveys 50 in the Gumb swamp + 50 on the East side of the swamp patented by Stephen Glare 200 acres more Beginning at his lower line + runing to the hog ridge so as compleate 200 acres 100 acres more on both sides of the little swamp freely by him to be possessed and enjoyed Item I give + Bequeat to my son Sion 120 acres land on the No Side of the Gumb swamp + on both sides of the little swamp 150 acres more lying below Rhodes pitmans lands it being a part of 400 acre survey I Bought of Benja. Freeman Beginning at hog ridge freely by him to be poseSsed and Enjoyed ~ Item I give and Bewqueath to my son Sampson 50 acres of Land the remainder of 400 acres I Bought of Benj Freeman 200 acres more Beginning at John Sterlands Beginning corner of a 50 acre survey and runs its due courses as for deed from John Brumble freely by him to poseSsd + Item I giv and Bequeath to my daughter Zelica 50 acres of land Joining Stephen Pitman and JeSse Philips land Freely by her to be poseSsed and enjoy Item I give and Bequeath to my son in law Jno.
