This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Melanie Atkins ==================================================================== Robeson County, NC Will of Silas Atkins, dated 27 Aug 1806; proved January 1807 Transcribed from copy received from NC State Archives In the name of God Amen I Silas Atkins of the County of Robeson, in the State of North Carolina Being in perfect health, & of Sound mind and memory do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (to wit) I lend Unto my Beloved wife Sarah Atkins, during her natural life and widowhood, all my Estate real and personal of every thing whatever and at her death, it is my wish that all my property shall desind to Nancy Drake & Sally Drake Daughters of Silas Drake & Sarah Drake & to be equally divided betwixt them & their lawful heirs if any they have, & in case of the death of either of them, the survivor of them shall inherit the whole of my estate, which in case of the death of both of them before they have issue, it is my will that the property aforsaid, shall descind to their Brother Atkins Drake Son of Silas Drake and Sarah his former wife (deceased) as aforesaid, which property shall be equally divided betwixt Nancy and Sarah Drake if both living at the death of my wife Sarah Atkins by my executor, hereinafter mentioned, And I appoint my wife Sarah Atkins executrix, & Leon James & Warren Alford executors, of this my last will and Testament, revoking & dissanulling all other former Wills by me made heretofore In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal This 27th day of Aug. 1806 Silas (his “A” mark) Atkins (seal) Signed Sealed published & declared to be the last will and Testament of Silas Atkins in the presence of J M Queen A B Drake Wiley Alford I Arch McEachin? Sessions in and for the County of Robeson do hereby certify that at a Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions held for the County of Robeson on the 1st Monday in Jan’y 1807 That the last will and Testament of Silas Adkins was admitted to probate and the following entry made upon the minutes docket of that term. The last will & testament of Silas Atkins was proved by the oaths of James M Queen and Wiley Alford & admitted to record when Sarah Adkins, Lion Alford, James Alford, Warren Alford were qualified as Exr’s. to the same.
