Robeson County, NC - Will of Sampson Sealey, 1859 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sampson Sealey Will In the name of God Amen-I Sampson Sealy of the County of Robeson and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transtory life. On therefore make ordain publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament-that is to say after all my debts are paid and discharged the balance of my estate real and personal I give bequath and dispose of as follow. 1st to my beloved wife HARRIET I give and bequath 112 1/2 acres of land known as the land I bought of J. C. Lee. I give and bequath unto her one negro man by the name Luke, also one negro woman Ellen, also another woman by the name Rebecca, her choice cows and calves, her choice house, two sows and pigs. One years provision. Bed and furniture. the above property to reamin hers during her widowhood until my youngest child become of age-others to be equally divided between my children born by her requesting. My children there to take charge of her. The remaineder of her natural life. 2nd to my son Morre T. Sealy, I give and bequath 300 acres of land known as the Braswell land and also one negro boy the name of Neill and horse, bridle and saddle. 3rd to my son Nicholas Tally I give and bequath 107 acres land known as the Cade Barfield land. One negro boy by the name of M____, one horse bridle and saddle. one cow and calf. 4th to my son Sampson Asberry I give and bequath 270 acres land known as the plantation on which I now live also one negro boy by the name Jerry. one horse bridle and saddle. 5th to my daughter Elizabeth Powell I give and bequath one negro girl by the name Martha during her natural lifetime and at her decease to be divided between the heirs of her body. I also give her one bed and furniture. 6th to my daugher Martilla I give and bequath one negro woman by the name of Charlotte and when my daughter Flora Elizabeth become 21 yrs old the incease of Charlotte is to be divided between my two daughers Narcissa Rhodes and Flora Elizabeth after that time to incease to Martillas. I give her one bed and furnitrue. one cow and calf. 7th to my daughter Nancy Carolina I give and bequath negro girl by the name Fanny during her natural lifetime to the heirs of her body. also one bed and furniture also one cow and calf. 8th to my daughter Hellen malatia I give and bequath one negro girl by the name Rosannah and one bed and furniture. also one cow and calf. 9th to my daughter Narcissa C Rhodes I give and bequath one negro girl by the name Missouri and one bed and furniture and one cow and calf. 10th to my daughter Flora Elizabeth I give and bequath one negro boy by the name of Wiley. one bed and furniture and one cow and calf. 11th At my decease I want my perishable property equally divided among my five youngest daughters that I also had by my first wife. 12th should either of my sons die without a bodily heir their portions goes back to the sons of my first wife. 13th should either of my daughters die of my first wife- last I apapoint my son Sampson Asberry exectutor to this my last will and Testament in witness wherof I have here unto set my hand and seal this Dec. the 5th 1859.
