Robeson County, NC - Will of Daniel Wilkison, 1854

Will of my great grandfather who was born in Scotland and died in Robeson 
County, North Carolina.


                 WILL OF DANIEL WILKISON

Recorded in the book of wills for Robeson County page 1117 

In the name of God Amen.  I Daniel Wilkison being of sound mind and memory 
(blefsed be God)* do on this seventh day of December in the year of our 
Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty two make and publish this my last 
will and testament in manner and form as follows.

First I give and bequeath to my sons Angus and Peter a negro girl named 
Margaret and my desire is that said girl be retained in the family.

Second, I give and bequeath to my sons Daniel and Edward a negro woman 
named Violet.

Third, I give and bequeath to my son Archibald a negro girl named Nancy.

Fourth I give and bequeath to my son Alexander a negro boy named Jordan.

Fifth, I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally a Negro boy named Henry.

Sixth, I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane a negro boy named Andrew.

Seventh, I give and bequeath to my daughters Sally and Jane a negro girl 
named Flora.

Eighth, I give and bequeath to my son Edward all of my lands, except a life 
interest in said lands, which life interest I give to my daughters Sally and 
Jane and my son Daniel.  I also give to my daughters Sally and Jane and son 
Daniel during their lifetime my present dwelling house and all the other out 
houses with the privilege of wood, lightwood and timber off of all the balance 
of my lands,--the said life interest in my lands and houses to revert to my 
son Edward after the death of my daughters Sally and Jane and son Daniel.

Lastly, I make, ordain and appoint my sons Alexander and Edward Executors to 
this my last will and testament in witness there of I have here unto set my 
hand and seal, the day and year above written.   Daniel Wilkison

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the testator, as his last will and 
testament in presence of us who were present at the time of the signing and 
sealing thereof   M. C. MacNair & J. B. MCallum

Robeson County     Court of Pleas and Trusts

                                 sessions May term 1854

On motions the amend will and testament of Daniel Wilkinson was admitted to 
probate upon the oath of M. C. MacNair a subscribing witness hereto  
Whereupon Edward Wilkinson was duly qualified as executor
