I Giles Williams of the County of Robeson and State of North Carolina being well in body and of sound mind and perfect memory, thank God for his mercies toward me but calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that all men must die, I do make this to be my Last Will and Testament in the manner and form following. 1st I lend to my wife Sarah Williams, her natural life, one Hundred acres of land. Including my Houses of every description being the lower part of two Hundred acres and negroes Daniel and Redden. Also all my parishonable property after all just debts being paid, except what is hereafter given in legacies. 2nd I give and bequeath to my son Bright Williams one negroe man Luke. 3rd I gave and bequeath to my son Giles Williams one hundred acres of land being the upper part of two hundred acres, also a remnant bought of Noah Pittman also one hundred acres where my wife now lives after her death, also one negro Redden after my wife’s death. 4th I gave and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Thompson one negro boy Sollomon. 5th I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Malcy Inman one bed and furniture, also one negro man Daniel after my wife’s death, and after my wife’s death all the parishonable property left by her, to be sold by my Executors and the money arising from such sale to be equally divided among all my lawful heirs, namely Benjamin Williams, Bright Williams, Giles Williams, the heirs of Charity Inman (died) to have her distributive share, Nancy Pittman, Christian Floyd, Sarah Thompson, Polly Lewis, and Susannah Inman. I also appoint my two sons, Bright Williams and Giles Williams, Executors to this my last will, and testament and I do hereby revoke, disallow, and disannul all and every other former will testament, legacies, or bequeaths by me before made, ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I do hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of November one thousand Eight Hundred and thirty nine. Signed, sealed, and acknowledged by the said Giles Williams to be his last will and testament in presence of (viz?) whose names are hereunto subscribed. Then was this will duly proven in open court to be the Last Will and Testament of Giles Williams (died) by the oath of Speir Warters one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and Giles Williams one of the Executors therein named qualified as such.
