STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA       SUPERIOR COURT OF LAW & EQUITY
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY               December  Term 1845

WILLIAM BARNETT and his wife, LUCY BARNETT

          Vs.

THOMAS BARNETT, NATHANIEL BARNETT, PLEASANT PHILLIPS and his wife, BETSY 
PHILLIPS, and JOHN HAMLIN, Adminisrator of JAMES BARNETT, Deceased, and the 
Roanoke Navigation Company

(Kind of suit not given) 

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendants, THOMAS 
BARNETT, NATHANIEL BARNETT, PLEASANT PHILLIPS and his wife, BETSY PHILLIPS, 
reside outside the limits of this State: it is therefore ordered by the Court 
that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, a newspaper 
printed in Greensboro, that unless the said Defendants appear at our next 
Court to be held in the Court House at Wentworth on the 5th Monday after the 
4th Monday in March A.D. 1846,M , then and there to plead answer or demur, 
judgment will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte .
Witness, JOHN L. LESUEUR  , Clerk of our Court, at office in Wentworth, on the 
15th day  of  December, 1845.
