STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA  COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY                Aug. Term 1845

THOMAS HAMLIN and wife, MARTHA HAMLIN

          Vs.

JEFFERSON R. HUGHES; PARRIS ALLEN and his wife; WILLIAM WELLS and his wife, 
LOUISA WELLS; EDMUND P. WELLS, and his wife, MARY WELLS; MARY RANEY, EDMUND 
RANEY, DORSEY JONES and his wife, CAROLINE JONES, and SANFORD RANEY

Petition for partition of lands 

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that  the defendants, JEFFERSON 
R. HUGHES; PARRIS ALLEN and his wife; WILLIAM WELLS and his wife, LOUISA 
WELLS; EDMUND P. WELLS, and his wife, MARY WELLS; MARY RANEY, EDMUND RANEY, 
DORSEY JONES and his wife, CAROLINE JONES, and SANFORD RANEY, reside  outside 
the limits of this State: it is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, a newspaper 
printed in Greensboro, that unless the said Defendants appear at our next 
Court to be held in the Court House at Wentworth on the 4th Monday in 
November   next , then and there to plead answer or demur, judgment final  
will be entered against them .

August, 1845
