COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY               
June Term, 1841

MICHAEL CARTER and THOMAS J. BOYD
    
        VS.

PENDLETON JONES, PLEASANT BLACK and THOMAS SMITH

(Kind of Suit not Given)

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that one of the defendants in 
this case, THOMAS SMITH, is not an inhabitant of this State. It is therefore 
ordered by the Court that publication be made for three successive weeks in 
the Patriot, printed in Greensboro', that unless the defendant appear at our 
next Court to be held for the County of Rockingham in the Court House at 
Wentworth on the 5th Monday after the 4th Monday in September next, then and 
there to plead, answer or demur to the attachment, judgment will be taken pro 
confesso against him.
