ROCKINGHAM COUNTY               
February Term, 1839

JOHN FIELDS et al 

      VS.

NATHAN S. SCALES, NANCY CROCKETT, JACOB SCALES and his wife, NANCY SCALES

Petition for Division of Land

It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendants in this 
case, NATHAN S. SCALES, NANCY CROCKETT, JACOB SCALES and his wife, NANCY 
SCALES are not inhabitants of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court 
that publication be made for three successive weeks in the Patriot, printed in 
Greensboro', that unless the defendant appear at our next Court to be held for 
the County of Rockingham in the Court House at Wentworth on the 4th Monday in 
May, next, then and there to plead, answer or demur to the attachment, 
judgment will be taken pro confesso against them.

Witness, JOSEPH HOLDERBY, Clerk of our Court, at office on the 4th Monday in 
February, A.D., 1839.
