Book D:96   DALE, John from KELLUM, William   Deed

This Indenture mad this (blank) day of (blank) in the year of our Lord 
one thousand Seven hundred & Ninety four between William KELLUM of the 
County of Rockingham in the State of North Carolina of the one part & 
John DALE of the County & State aforesaid of the other part   Witnesseth 
that the said William KELLUM for & in Consideration of the Sum of fifty 
pounds Current money to him in hand paid by the said John DALE, the 
receipt whereof the said William KELLUM doth hereby acknowledge & 
himself herewith fully Satisfied Contented & paid, hath granted bargained 
and sold by these present grant bargain & sell alien release & confirm 
unto the sd John DALE his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract of 
land Situate in the County of Rockingham in the State of North Carolina 
and on the waters of the Green Springs of Mayo River which land (to Wit) 
Begining at a gum runing thence North thirty poles to a post oak thence 
East one hundred poles to a white oak in GALLAWAYS line thence South on 
GALLAWAYS line thirty eight poles to black oak, thence East on GALLAWAYS 
line Sixty three poles to a white oak, thence South on GALLAWAYS line one
hundred and twenty seven poles to a white oak, thence West two hundred & 
forty four poles to a white oak, thence North one hundred & thirty four 
poles to a post oak, thence East Eighty one poles to the first Station, 
containing Two hundred & Twenty acres together with all houses orchards 
gardens fences woods underwoods water & water courses, thereon Standing, 
growing & being with all other profits Commodities, advantages & 
appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or any wise appertaining, 
also the remainder & remainders, reversion and reversions thereof & of 
every part and parcel thereof To Have & To Hold the sd Tract of land with 
all & Singular the appurtenances to the only proper use & behoof of him 
the Said John DALE his heirs and assigns, and the said William KELLUM for 
himself & his heirs the said land & premises with all & Singular the 
Appurtenances unto the said John DALE his heirs & assigns Shall and will 
warrant & forever Defend by these presents against all persons or person 
haveing or lawfully Claiming any right or title in or to the Same, and the
Said William KELLUM for himself & his heirs doth grant Covenant & agree 
to & with the said John DALE his heirs & assigns in manner & form 
following, Viz: that he the said William KELLUM at the time of Sealing 
and delivering of these presence is and Stands Seized of an indefeasible 
estate in fee simple of & in the premises & that he hath good and lawfull 
authority to sell & convey the Same in manner & form aforesaid and that 
the same shall forever remain to the said John DALE his heirs and assigns 
freely exonerated and Discharged of and from all manner of forms bargains 
sales titles of Dowry and all other rights of Estate whatsoever ____. 
In Witness whereof the said William KELLUM hath hereunto Set his hand 
and affixed his Seal the day & year first above Written.
