Know Ye, That we, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings 
for every hundred acres hereby granted, paid into our Treasury by Thomas 
HARBOUR - have given and granted, and by these presents do give and grant 
unto the said Thomas HARBOUR,  a Tract of Land, containing two hundred 
and four acres, lying and being in the county of Rockingham on both sides 
of Matrimony creek, -- Beginning at a post oak Henry ROBERTS corner, 
thence with his line South crossing the said creek fifty eight poles to a 
large black oak, thence North Two degrees East crossing the creek again 
fifty eight poles to a post oak, thence North fifty six poles to a post 
oak standing in the Virginia line, thence with that line West along that 
line crossing of Two Branches of Maribone Creek, three hundred and thirty 
nine poles to a hickory saplin, thence South with Geo HAIRSTONs supposed 
line crossing of two branches of two branches of pappaw creek 194 poles 
to a Spanish oak in Zachariah KINGs line, thence with his line East 99 
pos to a post oak, crossing the road, thence No. with Richd OAKLEYs line 
138 pos. to a white oak, OAKLEYs corner _____ with his line East 236 
poles to the first Station.
	Entered 27th Febry 1816 -
As by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods, 
waters, mines, minerals, Hereditaments, and appurtenances, to the said 
land belonging or appertaining: To Hold to the said Thomas HARBOUR his 
heirs and assigns forever: yielding and paying to us such sums of Money, 
yearly or otherwise as our Generals Assembly from time to time may direct:
 Provided Always That the said Grantee shall cause this grant to be 
registered in the Registers office of our said county of Rockingham 
within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be 
void.
	In Testimony whereof We have caused these our letters to be made 
patent, and our Great Seal to be thereunto affixed.
	Witness, William MILLER, Esquire, our Governor, Captain General, 
and commander in chief at Raleigh, the 4th day of December in the Forty-
first year of our Independence, and in the year of our Lord one thousand 
eight hundred and Sixteen.
