This indenture made this 26th day of August in the year one thousand 
eight hundred and six, Between Benjamin McFarlin in the County of 
Rockingham and State of North Carolina of the one part, and Adam Sharp 
in the same County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth 
that the said Benjamin McFarlin for and in consideration to him of the 
sum of one hundred dollars current lawful money of the United States to 
him in hand paid at and before the signing and sealing of these 
presents the Receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged and hereof 
esonerate aquit and discharges, hath given granted bargained sold 
aliened enfeoffed and confirm unto the said Adam Sharp his heirs and 
assigns, four hundred and sixty nine acres of Land, situate lying and 
being on both sides of Jacobs Creek in the County of aforesaid, 
Beginning at a poplar, thence East crossing the Creek with Hays line 
three hundred and forty poles to a black Oak, thence South two hundred 
poles to a chesnut thence West one hundred and sixty poles to a black 
Oak, thence South thirty two poles to a chesnut on the banks of a 
branch, thence West one hundred and eighty poles to a white Oak on the 
East bank of the creek the same continued West twenty six poles in all 
two hundred and six poles to an ash James Haileys corner thence North 
nine degrees East with Alexander Martins Esq line eighty nine poles to 
a black Oak, then East nine poles to a red Oak, thence North One 
hundred and forty three poles to the first station and contains four 
hundred and 69 a. of Land,  be the same more or less agreeable to the 
boundries thereof--- Together with all and Singular appurtenances, 
woods, ways waters mines minerals heredtitaments, and appurtenances to 
the said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Adam Sharp 
his heirs or assigns forever, and the said Benjamin McFarlin and his 
heirs the said Tennament and premises and every part thereof against 
him and his heirs and against all and every other person or persons 
whatsoever laying. Lawfull right or claim thereunto, to have and to 
hold to the said Adam Sharp his heirs or assigns for ever do warrant 
and defend by these presents, In, In witness whereof I the said 
Benjamin McFarlin hath hereunton set my hand and affixed my Seal in the 
day and year first above written
