Rockingham County, NC - Isaac Rolston to Benjamin McFarland, 1802 ~~~~~~~~~~ Wentworth County Court House Office of Register of Deeds Book I; Page 43, 44 No. 726 McFarland, Benjamin from Rolston Issac Deed 200 acres This Indenture made the 26th day of January in the year or our Lord Christ 1802. Between Isaac Rolston of the County of Barron in the State of Kentucky of the one part, and Benjamin McFarlin of the County of Rockingham in the State of North Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Isaac Rolston for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds current money of the aforesaid State of North Carolina to him in hand paid by the said Benjamin McFarlin at and before the insealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof the said Isaac Rolston doth hereby acknowledges, and himself therewith fully satisfied, hath given, granted, bargained sold aliened, released, made over, coveyed and confirmed unto the said Benjamin McFarlin his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in Rockingham County and in the State of North Carolina on the waters of Jacobs Creak, and which contains two hundred acres, and bounded as followith (?owi) Beginning at a post oak Alexander Nelsons corner running thence East Crossing the Dan River Road one hundred and sixty poles to the black oak, thence South crossing said road again two hundred poles to a chestnut thence west one hundred and sixty poles to a black oak, thence north on said Nelsons line two hundred poles to the first station. To have and to hold the aforesaid granted and bargained premises, with all and singular the rights, benefits, priviledges, and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said Benjamin McFarlin his heirs and assigns forever and the said Isaac Rolston doth hereby warrant and forever defend the said granted premises with the appurtinances unto the said Benjamin McFarlin his heirs and assigns forever against the lawfull claim of any person or persons whomsoever, In testimony whereof the said Isaac Rolston hath here unto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
