In the 22d year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred & ninety seven Between Robert MEANES of the one part & William MEANES of the other part both of Rockingham County & State of North Carolina Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the Sum of [blank] Pounds by the said Robert MEANS in hand paid the receipt is hereby fully acknowledged, the sd.
