Deed - 50 acres

This Indenture, Made this [blank] day of [blank] in the Year of our Lord 
one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Six  Between Champ GILSON of the 
County of Rockingham and State of North Carolina of the one part and 
Robert MEANS of the County and State aforesaid of the other part 
Witnesseth that he the Said Camp GILSON for and in Consideration of the 
Sum of ten pounds current money to him in hand paid by the aforesaid 
Robert MEANS the Receipt whereof he the Said Champ GIBSON doth hereby 
acknowledge and himself therewith fully Satisfied Contented and paid hath 
granted Bargained and Sold Aliened Released and Confirmed and by these 
presents grant Bargain Sell Alien Release and Confirm unto the Said Robert
MEANS his heirs and assigns One Certain Tract or parcell of Land 
Containing fifty acres on Both sides of Hicory Creek of Mayo River in the 
County of Rockingham Which land to Witt  Beginning at a white oak runing 
thence South on MEANESES own line crossing hicory Creek One hundred and 
Seventy Two poles to a black oak thence West forty Seven poles to a Black 
Oak thence North one hundred and Seventy Two poles To a Post Oak thence 
East forty Seven poles to the first S[t]ation  Together with all houses 
Orchards Gardens fences Woods under Woods Water and Water Courses thereon 
Standing Growing and Being With all other profits commodities advantages 
and appurtenances whatsoever to the Same Belonging or anywise appertaining
as also the Remainder and Remainders Reversion and Reversions thereof and 
of any part and parcell thereof to have and to hold the said Tract of Land
with all and every Singular the appurtenances to the only proper use and 
Behoof of him the Said Robert MEANES His heirs and assigns forever and 
the Said Champ GIBSON for himself and his heirs the Said Land and premises
with thir and every of their appurtenances unto The Said Robert MEANES 
his heirs and assigns Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these 
presents against all person or persons having lawfully claiming any right 
in or to the same or any part or parcell thereof and the Said Champ GIBSON
For himself and his heirs doth grant covenant and agree to and with the 
Said Robert MEANES in manner and form following viz;  that at the time of 
the Sealing and delivery of these presents he the Said Champ GIBSON is 
and Stands Seized of any indefeasible Estate in fee Simple of and in the 
premises and that he hath a good a lawfull authority to sell and convey 
the same in manner and form aforesaid and that the Same Shall forever 
remain to the Said Robert MEANES his heirs and assigns freely Clearly 
Exonerated and discharged of and from all manner of other forms Bargains 
Sales Titles of dowry and all other rights and Estates Whatsoever in 
Witness whereof the Said Champ GIBSON hath hereunto set his hand and seal 
the day and year first above written.
