(LDS Film #0019707 - Transcribed by Francie Lane) ROCKINGHAM CO., NC DEED BOOK G, p. 34 No. 199 – SHARP, RICHARD GRANT 57 Acres ~ State of North Carolina To all to whom these presents shall come greeting ~ Know Ye that we, for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our treasury by RICHARD SHARP have given and granted, and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Richard Sharp a Tract of land containing fifty Acres now lying and being in the County of Rockingham situate on the waters Bever Island Creek in the County aforesaid Beginning at a white oak saplin Richard Sharps Corner thence East thirty four poles along John Joyces line to a post oak thence along his line North one hundred and twenty five poles to his Corner post oak thence along another of his lines East fifty eight poles to a pine saplin thence North thirty eight poles to a black oak ISHAM SHARPs Corner thence West along James ?(SYMSs) line fifty four poles to his Corner post oak thence North along his line fifty poles to a black oak in James ?(SAUNDERs) line thence West thirty five poles to a grub in the said Sharps own line, South to the first Station - - - as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear; Together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals, hereditaments, and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining: To Hold to the said Richard Sharp his heirs and assigns forever; yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise, as our General Assembly from time to time may direct Provided always that the said grantee shall cause this grant to be Registered in the Register’s office of our said County of Rockingham within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect; In Testimony whereof, we have caused these our letters to be made patent and our great Seal to be hereunto affixed.
