He fell in the Battle of Sharpsburg* [Sept. 14, 1862], and was buried by his comrades on the field, his grave having been dug with a bayonet. Peace ashes. A nobler soul sleeps not in the soil. Additional Comments: Capt. Chalmers Glenn, a lawyer, enlisted on May 3, 1861 in Company I, 13th Infantry and died on Sept. 14, 1862, at Stone Mountain, Md., according to American Civil War Regiments.
