Death Of Captain Glenn
The STANDARD of Raleigh, Oct. 8, 1862
           DEATH OF CAPTAIN GLENN
   We record with deep regret the death of CAPTAIN CHALMERS GLENN of 
Rockingham County, of the 13th Regiment. He fell in the Battle of Sharpsburg* 
[Sept. 14, 1862], and was buried by his comrades on the field, his grave 
having been dug with a bayonet. Peace ashes. A nobler soul sleeps not in the 
soil. 

Additional Comments:
   Capt. Chalmers Glenn, a lawyer, enlisted on May 3, 1861 in Company I, 13th 
Infantry and died on Sept. 14, 1862, at Stone Mountain, Md., according to  
American Civil War Regiments.
