The Landmark Newspaper, Statesville, NC August 11, 1905
Mrs. Letitia Moorehead Walker of Spray, Rockingham county, eldest and only 
surviving daughter of the late Governor Moorehead, is expected to arrive this 
morning to be the guest of  her niece Mrs. A.L. Coble. Mrs. Walker has been 
for many years the North Carolina regent for the Mount Vernon Association, 
which owns and cares for this famous Washington home.
