Tues, Jan. 21, 1840, Patriot (Greensboro, N.C.)
  DEPARTED THIS LIFE, at her late resident in Wentworth, Rockingham County, N. 
C., on Monday night, the 6th of January, 1840, after a most distressing 
illness of near two years continuance, all of which time she was confined to 
her room, and mostly to her bed, -- MRS. FRANCES ELLINGTON, in the 64th year 
of her age.
   She was, at the time of her death, and had been for several years prior, a 
worthy member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
   She was left a widow with several minor children, a number of years 
previous to her death; and to become acquainted with her children is at once 
to discover in what an exemplary manner she discharged the double 
responsibility of father and mother.
