A Tribute Published in the Eden Daily News, 1982 [exact date not available] Eden - Wylie Wilson Moorefield, 82, of Rt. I died Wednesday Memorial Hospital of Martinsville, Va. after a long illness. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fair Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Cooke officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. He was a native of Washington County, Va,, and a Spray Cotten Mills retiree. Surviving are wife, Mrs. Ocie Moorefield; daughters, Mrs. Violet White, Mrs. Ann Matherly, Mrs. Lorene Anburn, Mrs. Cornelia Pike, Mrs. Rachel Pulliam and Mrs. Bertha Hicks of Eden, Mrs. Eva Stanley and Mrs. Barbara Hill of Stoneville, Mrs. Janie Davis of Pelham; sons, Leroy Moorefield of Stoneville, Ellis and Jimmy Moorefield of Eden, Samuel Moorefield of Fielddale, Va.; sister, Mrs. Cora Long of Danville, Va.; brothers Willie Moorefield of Danville, the Rev. Arthur MoorefieJd of WWilmington; 37 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today.
