He was the son of John Tillman Robertson (1852-1929) and Jennie S. Blackwell Robertson (1858-1890). KILLED IN WRECK IN KENTUCKY Relatives here were notified Saturday by wire that Robert Robertson had been killed in a railroad wreck near Paducah, KY., that morning, and his remains were ordered sent to Reidsville for burial. Young Mr. Robertson had been living in Kentucky for several years and held a position as railroad fireman. His life was lost while he was in the discharge of his duty on the engine, and the engineer with him was also killed. Deceased was a son of Mr. John Robertson, who had been twice married. By the first union there were five children of which the dead young man was one, and Owen, Adolphus, Jim, and Miss Susie. There are several half-brothers and half sisters also surviving. The remains were expected to arrive here yesterday afternoon, but the train conveying them was wrecked and consequently delayed at Clifton Forge, VA., and thereafter did not reach here until this morning. The burial took place at 9 o'clock at the family graveyard near town. The young man was well liked by everyone who knew him. He possessed habits of thrift and industry, and the news of his untimely death came as a severe shock to many of his friends.
