Soyars Burial Slated Today; Rockingham Native Reidsville, N.C., Oct. 3- Funeral rites for Mrs. Margaret E. Soyars, 74, native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m., from Lowes Methodist Church near Reidsville. Elder John W. Gilliam, Rev. John Groff and Rev. Joseph Lasley, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body was taken to the home of Mrs. Issac B. McKinney, Rt. 1, Elon College, and will remain there until 2:30 Tuesday when it will be taken to the church. Mrs. Soyars was found dead at the home of her son, John A. Soyars, Reidsville, Route 1, Sunday morning. Her death was attributed by Rockingham Coroner, Dr. M. P. Cummings, to a heart attack suffered earlier. She was the former Margaret Lynn and lived her entire life in Rockingham County. Her husband, Charlie P. Soyars, died in 1943. She had lived with her children for the past ten years. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Issac B. McKinney and Mrs. Scott Gwynn, both of Elon College, Rt. 1 and Mrs. Claude Strickland, Reidsville, Route 1; two sons, John A. Soyars of Reidsville, Route 1 and W. F. Soyars, Elon College, Route 1; two brothers, Charlie L. Lynn of Reidsville and Albert Lynn of Reidsville, Route 1; three sisters, Mrs. Bertie Talley of Richmond, VA., Mrs. J. N. Minter of Reidsville, Route 3 and Mrs. Lawrence Manley of Reidsville, Route 4; 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren."
