Miss Wootton, Teacher
And Civic Leader, Dies

   Miss Anne Elizabeth Wootton a retired teacher and guidance counselor and an 
active leader in the community, died Monday morning at Annie Penn Memorial 
Hospital following a short illness.  she resided at 1110 South Main Street.
   A lifelong residence of Reidsville, she was the daughter of the late 
William T. and Sarah Hooper Wooton.  She was a retired English teach and 
guidance counselor at Reidsville Senior High School, a member of the Perennial 
Garden Club and past president Reidsville Garden Council.  She was a charter 
member of the Reidsville Woman's Club and Alpha Delta Kappa International 
Teachers Sorority.  She was a member of the Belmont Demonstration Club, 
director of the Council of Ministries, charter member Lena Hall Sunday School 
Class and a member of the United Methodist Women.
   There are no immediate survivors.  She is survived by several cousins.
   Funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday at Main Street United Methodist 
Church where she was a  member with the rev. Dewey Smith officiating.  Burial 
will be in Greenview Cemetery.
   The family will be at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
   Memorials maybe (sic) made to Main Street United Methodist Church or to the 
Reidsville Garden Council.
