Corbitt jericorbitt@juno.com _________________________________________________________ Last Will and Testament of Robert Means Rockingham Co, NC Will Book A, pp 259-260 Robert Means In the name of God amen I Robert Means of the county of Rockingham and state of North Carolina being at this time weak of body but of sound and disposed mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die and uncertain of the time when do make and ordain this be my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say I Commend my soul to God who gave it me and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors hereafter nominated and touching my worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me divide and dispose of in manner following: Item: I give and bequeath to my son William Means one dollar to him or his heirs. Item 2: I give and bequeath to the heirs of my James Means Decd one dollar Item 3: I give and bequeath to the children of my daughter Rebecca Grogan decd thirty dollars. Item 4: All the residue of my estate both real and personal to be sold by my executor and after my just debts are paid to be equally divided among my daughter Jane Campbell, Mary Barns, Elizabeth Rea___, Nomay Sharp, Flemin Sharp, Martha Vernon the children of my daughter Ann Decd and the heirs of my son Robert Means & my daughter Rachal Smith. Lastly I do nominate Constitute and appoint my trusty friend Josiah Claybrook my executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twentyeth day of May one thousand eight hundred and twenty two.
