A record of the family of Jacob and Catherine Bowers Fisher, compiled from an 
old Bible record. Bible published in 1855 and now owned by E.R. Gross, 
Franklin Ind. Jacob Fisher, of Dutch ancestry, was the son of George and 
Catherine Bowers Fisher. She was his cousin, and was the daughter of Henry and 
Margaret Thomas Bowers. Jacob Fisher came to Johnson Co., Ind. from Clark Co., 
Ind. in 1826 settling in Needham Township. His land grant was signed by John 
Quincy Adams. Later grants were signed by Andrew Jackson, Millard Fillmore and 
James Buchanan. These original deeds are now owned by Erie Fisher, Franklin, 
Indiana.

Note: Direct descendants of Jacob and Catherine Bowers Fisher in--Johnson Co., 
Ind., in 1930 were: 
one son-William Fisher-living with his son, Erie Fisher, Franklin, Ind; 
eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, eleven great, great, 
grandchildren. 
Only one member of this large family left the county in which they were born.

George Taylor b. 31 March 1838 in Davie County, NC. Came to Johnson County, IN 
in 1851 with his mother, Bethiah, brother William Henry Taylor and sister 
Jennetta Ann Taylor Jones.
