Rowan County, NC - Edward Newton Daniel - Act to Legitimate ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An Act to alter the name of Edward Newton Daniel, of Rowan county, and to legitimate him Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Edward Newton Daniel, of the county of Rowan, the illegitimate son of Turner Southall Parker, shall hereafter be known and distinguished by the name of Edward Newton Parker, and by that name shall be made capable to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, in any Court within this State; and that name shall be legitimated and made capable to take, inherit, possess and enjoy any estate, real or personal, which may be devised or descend to him, in as full and ample a manner, to all intents and purposes, as if the said Edward had been born in lawful wedlock; any law to the contrary nothwithstanding.
