After 1826 the David & Fannie McGuire family moved to Madison County, Tennessee where they settled and raised their family. James McGuire married Rachel Bailey (daughter of Ishmael Bailey and Susannah Parker?)about 1834 in probably Madison County, Tennessee. James and Rachel had four children, George Bailey McGuire, Susan Frances McGuire (Flinn), Mary Louise McGuire (McMordie) and David Perry McGuire. Upon the early deaths of James McGuire and Rachel Bailey, their children were placed in guardianship with their grandfather, Ishmael Bailey (1850 census); their maternal uncle? Henry S. Parker; and finally their paternal uncle George Washington McGuire. George Bailey McGuire and David Perry McGuire are believed to have died in the Civil War. The two remaining children moved to Texas and lived and died there. Susan Frances McGuire married Dr. John Carroll Flinn; Mary Louise McGuire married Francis "Frank" McMordie.
