WILSON, JAMES CAVENDER are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the just and full sum of Five hundred dollars, current money of said state, to be paid to the said State in trust for the benefit of ELIZA, ELIZABETH, PASCALL, & HANNAH ROBERTS. To the payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated 19th day of August Anno Domini, 1834 The condition of the above Obligation is such, That whereas the above bounded WILLIAM ROUSEY hath been, this day, by the Worshipful Court of said County, appointed Guardian of ELIZABETH,ELIZA, HANNAH, & PASCALL ROBERTS. Orphans of ENOCH ROBERTS deceased; Nor if the said WILLIAM ROUSEY Guardian as aforesaid, shall well and truly discharge his said Guardianship, by taking care of and improving all the estate belonging to the said Orphans and shall also settle his guardianship accounts with the Court ofsaid County, as is required by law, and that he will deliver up to the said ELIZABETH, ELIZA, HANNAH & PASCALL ROBERTS Orphans as aforesaid, when they shall attain a lawful age, all such estate as they ought of right to be possessed of , or sooner if required, agreeably to the true intent and meaning of the act of the General Assembly in such case made and provided; and shall in all things appertaining to his Guardianship, well and truly discharge the duties by law required – then this obligation to be void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. They had seven children - Elizabeth Roberts Walker (wife of John Walker); Eliza Roberts McGuire (wife of Timothy McGuire); Hannah Roberts Daywalt/Davault (wife of Alexander Daywalt/Davault); Pascal Roberts (husband of Margaret E. Cartner). Two additional children are not listed in the above guardianship papers - Catherine Roberts Deadman(wife of Tatum Deadman) and Greenbury Roberts.
