All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Robert Ellis http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004075 and Linda Ellis January 20, 2007, 4:38 pm Written: July 12, 1825 Anderson Ellis Deed to James & Henry Ellis ( 69 Acres) Rowan County, NC 12 July 1825 This Indenture, made the 12_ day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five between Anderson Ellis of the county of Rowan in the state of North Carolina of the one part, and James Ellis and Henry Ellis_ of the county of Rowan and state of North Carolina of the other part, WITNESSETH, that the said Anderson Ellis for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred fourteen Dollars and Twenty nine cents to him in hand paid by the said James Ellis and Henry Ellis_ the receipt whereof the said Anderson Ellis - - - - - - - - - - - - doth hereby acknowledge…..hath given, granted, bargained and sold, aliened and confirmed, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell, alien and confirm unto the said James Ellis and Henry Ellis, their heirs and assigns forever, ALL that tract, piece or parcel of LAND, situate, lying and being in the county of Davidson, Bounded as follows To wit: Beginning at a Stake an pile of Stones on Henry Linn’s line, near Wm Simmeson’s House running with Lynn’s line South three degrees East Twenty two Chains eighty eight links to a stake, James and Henry Ellis Cortner thence with their line south eighty seven degrees West Ten Chains & fifty nine links to a Stake their Corner, with their line N. 88 degrees West Seventeen Chains & twelve links to a pile of Stone on Doctr Robert Moore’s line thence with his line North four degrees West (Crossing Potts Creek) Twenty five Chains & thirty links to a small post oak, Said Simmesons corner Thence with his line East, Twenty eight Chains & ninety three links Crossing Potts Creek to the Beginning Containing Sixty nine acres. And also, all the woods, ways, waters and water- courses, and all and every the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits of the aforesaid lands and premises, and every part thereof, and all the estate, right title, interest, claims, property and demand whatsoever of the said Anderson Ellis of, in, and to the land and premises hereby granted; to have and to hold the aforesaid lands and premises, with the appurtenances, unto the said James Ellis and Henry Ellis their heirs and assigns, to the proper use and behoof of the said James Ellis and Henry Ellis their heirs and assigns, forever: And the said Anderson Ellis for him and his heirs, the aforesaid land and premises, and every part thereof, against him and his heirs, and against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever, to the said James Ellis and Henry Ellis their heirs and assigns, shall and will forever warrant and defend by these presents.
