DEED BOOK 4, Page 13 This Indenture made the Fourteenth Day of September, in the Year of Our Lord, One Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty Eight, Between Robert Jones Jur. Of Northampton County in the Province of North Carolina, of the one part, and John Hunter Junr. Of Bedford County in Virginia of the Other part, Witnesseth That the sd. Robert Jones for & in consideration of the Sum of Seventeen pounds Virginia money to him in hand paid by the Said John Hunter at & before the Ensealing & Delivery of these presence, the Receipt whereof the sd. Robert Jones Doth hereby Acknowledge Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold aliened and Confirmed And by these presents Doth from himself & his Heirs, Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien & Confirm unto the Said John Hunter and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever, All that Tract or parcel of Land Containing Two Hundred acres Situate – Lying & being in Rowan County on the North Side of Dan River, Beginning at a Spanish Oak, on the sd. River, thence Running North one hundred and Sixty poles to a white oak, thence East one hundred and Sixty four poles to a Red oak Standing on the bank of the sd. River, thence up the River to the beginning – Together With all Woods Under Woods Trees Waters Water Courses profits Commodities & Appurtenances whatsoever to the Said Tract of Land & premises belonging – or in any wise Appurtaining, And the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders, Rents Issues & profits thereof, And all the Estate Right Title Interest Use Trust property Claim & Demand whatsoever, Either in Law, or Equity of him the Said Robert Jones, of in & to the sd. Tract of Land & premises, and of in all and every, or any part thereof. To have and To hold the Said Tract of Land & premises hereby Granted, with their & every of their appurtenances unto the Said John Hunter his Heirs & Assigns To the only proper use & behoof of him the sd. John Hunter his Heirs and Assigns forever. And the sd. Robert Jones for himself his Heirs Exrs. & Admrs. Doth Covenant & Grant to & with the sd. John Hunter his Heirs & Assigns that he the sd. John Hunter his Heirs & Assigns, Shall & may for ever hereafter peaceably & Quietly have hold Use Occupy possess & Enjoy the hereby Bargained & Sold premises with the Appurtenances, and every part thereof, without the Lawful Let Suit hinderance Mollestation or Disturbance of him the sd. Robert Jones his Heirs or Assigns, And that the sd. Robert Jones and his Heirs Shall and Will Warrant and for ever Defend the Same unto the sd. John Hunter his Heirs and Assigns for ever Against the Lawful Claim of him the sd. Robert Jones his Heirs or Assigns or any other person or persons whomsoever Lawfully claiming or pretending to claim from by or under them or any of them in Witness whereof the Said Robert Jones hath hereunto Set his hand & Seal the Day and Year first above written.
